SPENCER BROOK TOWNSHIP
REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
MONDAY March 9, 2020

IN ATTENDANCE: Chair Lyle Peterson, Supervisor Arvid Jenkins, Supervisor Steve Smith, Treasurer Deb Nelson, Clerk Jennifer Jenkins, and Deputy Clerk Brad Brown.

CALL TO ORDER: 7:00pm

RESIDENTS: 1

RESIDENT INPUT: Resident Dennis Kowalik complimented Chair Lyle Peterson on the present condition of the roads.
AGENDA: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to approve the minutes, seconded by Supervisor Steve Smith, all in favor, motion carried.

MINUTES: Motion made by Supervisor Arvid Jenkins to approve the minutes, Seconded by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS: None.

NEW BUSINESS:
A. Recommendations on Levies for Annual Meeting
1. General Fund – Clerk Jennifer Jenkins and Treasurer Deb Nelson concurred on “no increase”.
2. Fire – Township Supervisor Arvid Jenkins said he would ask for a 5 percent increase
3. Road and Bridge – Chair Lyle Peterson, after lengthy discussion with Township Supervisor Steve Smith agreed on a 1 and ½ percent increase.
B. Developer’s Agreement – 300 feet between driveways. Clerk Jennifer Jenkins will call Bob Rupee and will have further facts at next meeting.
PLANNING COMMISSION: None.

FIRE BOARD UPDATE: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins reports that Princeton Fire has had their 2nd busiest year, he reported that they also had 1 call for medical assistance.
Isanti Fire district wide have had 75 calls to date and 4 in Spencer Brook which were all medical. New applicants are down to 1 with another coming on already trained and both going to Station 1.

ROAD AND BRIDGE: Chair Lyle Peterson reports that breakdowns occurring on both plow trucks fuel line sucking air on 03 and hydraulic hose leak on 04’s wing arm cylinder. Chair Lyle Peterson reported that 2/3rds of road restrictions signs were up. Snow furrows on Tiger Street and Matt Kelly’s tree problem were addressed and taken care of. Dale Selin had extra hours due to the 3-inch snow fall and breakdowns on plow truck, all was handled well.

CLERK REPORT: Deputy Clerk Brad Brown reported that the Presidential Primary went well and that the State of Minnesota will reimburse Spencer Brook for all costs incurred. He also said that the Township Election will take place from 10am – 8pm on Tuesday March 10,2020. Deputy Clerk Brad Brown also informed the Township Board that there were several requests but only the Isanti Historical Society requested to be on the Agenda at the Annual Meeting.

TREASURER REPORT: Treasurer Deb Nelson reports the claims and balances and gopher bounty. Later this month Treasurer Deb Nelson will be reinvesting the CD coming due. Motion made to approve claims and pay bills by Township Supervisor Steve Smith Seconded by Township Supervisor Arvid Jenkins All in favor, motion carried.

ADJOURNMENT: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to adjourn, which was 2nd by Chair Lyle Peterson. All in favor, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 8:44 pm.
