REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING
MONDAY February 10th, 2020

IN ATTENDANCE: Chair Lyle Peterson, Supervisor Steve Smith, Supervisor Arvid Jenkins, Treasurer Deb Nelson, Clerk Jennifer Jenkins, Deputy Clerk Brad Brown

CALL TO ORDER: 7:02pm

RESIDENTS: 8

RESIDENT INPUT: Dennis Kowalik states the condition of the gravel roads is not good, don’t we have serrated cutting edges for the Grader? Chair Lyle Peterson states; yes and he has to schedule Gary Nelson the grader operator because he works for the state of MN in winter by plowing. Bob and Mary Fredell express appreciation for the plowing on their road this past season.

AGENDA: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to add to the agenda Susan Morris to speak after approving the agenda and Vista point under New Business. Supervisor Steve Smith made a 2nd. All in favor, motion carried.

Susan Morris and Greg Anderson Isanti County commissioners present a Veteran’s Memorial park that is to be built in Cambridge and ask for support financially.

MINUTES: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to approve the regular December meeting minutes, which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried. Supervisor Arvid Jenkins makes a motion to approve the regular January meeting minutes, which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried. Supervisor Arvid Jenkins makes a motion to approve the Board of Audit meeting minutes, which is 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried.

OLD BUSINESS:
Keith Moody Plat; Moody Place:
Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to approve, and give Chair Lyle Peterson the authority to sign outside of a Board meeting, which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried.
Towering Pines Plat: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to approve and have Chair Lyle Peterson sign outside of a Board meeting, which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried.
Jeremy Walizer Plat: Discussion commenced, no action taken as the resident was not here to present the information.

NEW BUSINESS: Jill Goman from the Blue Lake Improvement District speaks with a request to continue with a garbage service and a port a potty at the North Lake Access from May to September. This is usually addressed at the annual meeting.

Vista Point: Supervisor Steve smith looked at the old road file and said the Board at that time vacated part of the road, and someone built a garage on part of that. Chair Lyle Peterson said he spoke to the resident stating we have to have a place to push snow.

PLANNING COMMISSION: Chair Lyle Peterson reads from the Isanti County Zoning regarding a father’s day customer appreciation day.

FIRE BOARD UPDATE: Princeton Fire District: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins reported they cancelled the meeting.

Isanti Fire: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins reported they had 66 runs for the entire district, 1 medical for Spencer Brook, and 3 structure fires in the District. No movement from Oxford Township so the amended Joint Powers agreement has been tabled for now.

ROAD AND BRIDGE: Chair Lyle Peterson states we had a breakdown of one of the trucks. We got one load of salt and sand from Isanti County, cannot get anymore from the city of Princeton.

CLERK REPORT: Clerk Jennifer Jenkins reports she needs a motion for the elections Judges to work the Township Election. Chair Lyle Peterson makes a motion to appoint all election Judges for the Township Election so Clerk Jennifer Jenkins can call around and see who is available to work, which Supervisor Steve Smith 2nds. All in favor, motion carried.
Clerk Jennifer Jenkins asks if the Board wants to pay $50.00 to Loren Daudt who installed the Blue lake sign for his labor. Chair Lyle Peterson makes a motion to send a check for $50.00 to pay the Blue Lake association and give instruction to where it goes, which Supervisor Arvid Jenkins 2nds. All in favor, motion carried.
Deputy Clerk Brad Brown reads a report on his Clerks class he attended in St. Michael regarding how to do the minutes. Deputy Clerk Brad Brown reads a report on how the Township officers meeting went.

TREASURER REPORT: Treasurer Deb Nelson reports Minnco investment is coming due; Supervisors agreed to roll it over for a 3 year. Treasurer Deb Nelson reports claims and balances, and Gopher Bounty and the year-end report was submitted to the state. Supervisor Arvid Jenkins makes a motion to approve claims including Isanti County payment for salt and sand; and accept the Treasurer’s report, which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried.

 

 

ADJOURNMENT: Supervisor Arvid Jenkins made a motion to adjourn which was 2nd by Supervisor Steve Smith. All in favor, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 9:10pm.
